About two months ago one of Manis' goats had twin babies. This delivery was particularly exciting because these babies are a little different than most of the baby goats around here. Their mom and dad are a different kind of goat that Sam brought up from the south for Manis. Whereas most of the goats around here have short ears that stick up, these have long ears that hang down like a puppy.
Anyway, with the drought, Manis had brought all the goats into the yard. One day we heard a noise outside on the porch. When we went out to find the two baby goats looking around for water. Ani and I got them some water and after that it became a daily routine... twice a day they would show up on the porch... sometimes baaahhing, sometimes just knocking the basin a bit... looking for water.
Ani has pretty much taken over the responsibility of getting them water and has named them Itty and Peppa :)
Unfortunately I was never fast enough with the camera to get a picture of them both drinking, but anyway, with out further ado...
Itty and Peppa
(the basins were all busy yesterday when Ani needed to get water so she decided to grab a measuring cup from the kitchen... fortunately it was a broken one that I am ok with relegating toward lesser tasks than cooking :)
Ani differentiates them by the color of their bums... "Itty has the pink bum and Peppa has the black bum," she says.
